Google Tasks, in depth.
Google Tasks has one big advantage over every other task app: it is already there. It sits in Gmail, it sits in Calendar, and if your working day happens inside Google Workspace then a task there is a task you will actually see.
What lands in Google Tasks
Tasks, with a title, a description and a due date when one was genuinely agreed in the conversation. EchoPilot does not invent a deadline that nobody said.
The item is drafted as a card first, naming Google Tasks as the destination and linking to the moment in the recording where the commitment was made.
Nothing appears until you approve it
Confirm the card and the task is created. Until then, nothing exists in your Google account. Change the destination, edit the wording, adjust the due date or discard it entirely.
After a task exists, the card can still rename it, change its description or change its due date. Removing it or moving it elsewhere asks you to confirm first.
Connecting
Connect Google Tasks in Settings. Authorisation is OAuth against your Google account, EchoPilot never sees your password, and the stored token is encrypted at rest. Disconnect at any time; existing tasks stay where they are.
A note on Gmail
Gmail is not a destination. It appears in EchoPilot’s provider list because Google authorisation is shared, but EchoPilot cannot create or send Gmail messages, and neither can it post to Google Chat. If you want the follow-up email drafted, use the Mail destination on your phone or Outlook Mail if you are on Microsoft.
