Informal meeting minutes template

Who was there, what you talked about, what you decided and who does what by when, for the conversations that never had an agenda.

Free, no sign-up. The Markdown file also imports into Notion.

When to use it

Use it for a quick conversation that still produced decisions: a corridor catch-up, a call with a supplier, a planning chat over coffee. Write it within the hour and send it to everyone who was there, so nobody remembers it differently next week.

What goes in each section

  • What we discussed. Two or three lines. Not a transcript.
  • What we decided. The decisions, one per line.
  • Who does what by when. One owner and one date per action.
  • Loose ends. Anything still undecided.

A filled example

An invented meeting, to show the level of detail that works.

Use it in Word, Google Docs or Notion

Let the recording fill it in

Informal conversations are where EchoPilot on a phone or an Apple Watch helps most: nothing to set up, no call to start. Record the conversation, and the key points and action cards come back ready to paste into this template or send straight to your task app.

Your next meeting can end with the work already drafted.

Install EchoPilot on the phone or the computer you already work on, record the next conversation you would otherwise try to remember, and read the minutes, the transcript and the drafted actions it gives you back.
